Thai Farm Cooking School - Chiang Mai, Thailand
During our stay in Chiang Mai, we decided to indulge in some Thai cooking lessons so that we could recreate some of our favorite dishes once we returned home. That brought us to the Chiang Mai Thai Farm Cooking School where they picked us up from our hotel, took us to the local market to learn about fresh ingredients and then transported us to the farm where there were several cooking stations set up in an outdoor kitchen environment. Our instructor, Garnet, is a native of Thailand but attended culinary school in Singapore and spoke perfect English. During the session she taught us to make some staples of Thai cuisine, including: Pad Thai, Springrolls, Papaya Salad, Tom Yam Soup, Red & Green Curry, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Fried Chicken with Basil, Bananas in Coconut Milk, and Mango with Sticky Rice. It was a delicious and satisfying day.
